A tribute to the Review fake watch that defined the brand’s entire design language in 1967.
aratsu polished case, sharply angled and faceted lugs, exquisite hands with large bevels, sharp edges and non-deformed surfaces. This is Grand Seiko! If you look back, the perfect definition of GS watches we see today is actually not new… The so-called Grand Seiko Style was born in 1967, and a watch that will define the entire series is here, 44GS. 55 years later, to celebrate this important model, Grand Seiko has now released a new watch that draws inspiration directly from this retro model. Meet Grand Seiko Heritage Hi-Beat GMT SBGJ255.
GRAND SEIKO style defined by 44GS
We can spend a few hours discussing the uniqueness of Grand Seiko. It is actually both simple and complex, and mostly highly consistent. And behind this “design grammar” is a man-Taro Tanaka-and a watch-44GS. This watch was born in 1967, seven years after the first Grand Seiko was launched. Its shape expresses a unique Japanese design concept, and it will establish Grand Seiko’s ideals. If the accuracy of 44GS is important, then its design has made a greater contribution to the future of Grand Seiko.
This watch will define the rules for later watches. To this day, it is still the most important design inspiration for the brand. It is proud to take this 55-year tradition as a solid guide. Behind the design of 44GS are the characteristics of many traditional Japanese art forms. In addition to the concepts of precision, legibility, beauty and ease of use, form follows function. This design language is all about the subtle use of light, reflection, and shadow.
The facets of the case are polished by hand Zaratsu to create a distortion-free surface, so that the edges of the case are clear and sharp. The hands and hour markers are made of diamond cutting technology, which can remain clear and easy to read even in low ambient light. The dial is clear and easy to read. If the result is definitely guided by rational ideas, then it also looks very pleasant. Shopping fake watch
The new HERITAGE HI-BEAT GMT SBGJ255
Following tradition and celebrating the 55th anniversary of the 44GS, Grand Seiko today released a watch that pays tribute to the nine principles that give Grand Seiko a unique appearance-the 9 points you can see above. If it is definitely more modern and equipped with modern machinery, then the new Heritage Hi-beat GMT SBGJ255 will definitely be greatly inspired by the 44GS design, starting with its unique case.
The case of the SBGJ255 has a diameter of 40 mm and is made of high-strength titanium, combined with brushed and Zaratsu polished surfaces. The overall shape directly refers to the 44GS, especially the large shoulders, curved edges, and the oppositely inclined bezel walls and case sides. This combination of angles and facets created a dynamic watch case that still feels very modern today. The materials used are not only light in weight, but also resistant to scratches and corrosion. It has a bright appearance and can be polished, and Zaratsu technology provides a distortion-free surface. The top of the case is a domed sapphire crystal with a semi-recessed crown that is water-resistant to 100 meters.
The main feature of this Grand Seiko Heritage Hi-Beat GMT SBGJ255 is its soft silver dial and low-key vertical texture. This contrasts sharply with the blue elements-Greenwich Mean Time hands and Greenwich Mean Time and GS logo-and the typical GS faceted hands and hour markers. Both are equipped with luminous material, and the second time zone can be read through the 24-hour scale printed on the beveled inner flange.
Inside the case is the brand’s classic high-frequency automatic GMT movement 9S86 movement. It runs at 36,000 vibrations per hour or 5Hz, has a power reserve of 55 hours, and adjusts with an accuracy of +5 to –3 seconds per day. Please note that this is a true travel watch, and the local hour hand can be adjusted in one-hour increments. Under the transparent bottom cover, you can see a special oscillating weight with the cheap Grand Seiko lion logo. The oscillating weight adopts a golden hue and is realized by an anodic oxidation process, in which titanium is electrolyzed to produce an oxide film.
