When Rafael Nadal returned to the French tennis match, Roland Garros sought his tenth record-breaking victory on the clay court. Richard Mille has launched a new watch for the Rafael Nadal model series (one of the series’ most respected brand ambassadors). Launch: “Richard Mille RM 35-02 Rafael Nadal Quartz-TPT”.
This watches has many points. Starting with bright reds and yellows, this is a direct homage to Nadal’s Spanish nationality. In fact, this is the first replica Richard Mille watch in the series with an automatic movement.
This 50mm tonneau-shaped case is made of quartz and is equipped with 20 grade 5 titanium spline screws and 316L stainless steel wear-resistant washers. Richard Mille (Richard Mille) is not the first time quartz has been used. A Swiss company called NTPT (Northern Thin Layer Technology), this product can help composite manufacturers improve efficiency and productivity, and assist in the implementation of quartz. After that, the boxes are processed at Richard Mille’s ProArt factory, where they produce most of the parts. The facility was established after Richemont’s former case supplier Donzé Baume was acquired by Richemont.
If you glance at the side of the box, you will find that it is layered. The white highlights between these layers are elements of natural white undyed quartz, while the red color is obtained using a resin also developed by NTPT. Richard Mille fake asserted that this material can withstand accelerations of up to 5,000 grams without losing its precise tracking time.
The RMAL1 movement is visible through the dial and bottom cover, thanks to a display box, which is also the first of this model series. With PVD/Titalyt trademark processing, it is possible to visualize grade 5 titanium alloy base plates and sandblasted bridges. Or, observe the brand’s patented variable geometry rotor for winding optimization. The watchmaker can also adjust this feature to match the user’s general activity level.
Looking at the hollow dial, we observe the movement mentioned earlier, with three hands indicating the time. The dial next to the bezel has a red minute index mark with the brand name and the words “Swiss Made” engraved on it. At 9 o’clock, there is a black rectangle engraved with “RM35-02 RAFA”, indicating the reference number of the model and the star player Rafael Nadal. In addition to these informative marks, the dial keeps it simple.
Richard Mille watches tend to use lightweight and unique materials with avant-garde design to customers who can withstand five to six-figure price tags. All these characteristics are applicable to the Rafael Nadal series, because the tennis champion actually wears these timepieces during the game. If you watch him in a Roland Garros game, you may be able to spot one of them on his wrist.
