Launched in 2015 by Astronomers, its mission is to create a tiny, mobile universe that you can wear on your wrist. Each piece in the series stands out like a canvas, showing infinite creativity and the most surprising combination of elements. The same elements, whether it is a dragon, a colorful octopus, or even a lifelike tarantula, show that all the perfect work done by Jacobs & Co. is not taken very seriously.
Enter the Astronomia Spider Tourbillon, this is a one-time luxury watch that is bound to make anyone stand out. The sapphire dome is wrapped in a glass sapphire dome that doubles the case, and it seems to have trapped all the moving elements controlled by the three-axis tourbillon regulator in a death trap.
“Although it seems so real, we actually made the structure of this 8-foot monster with titanium, made the outer skeleton with platinum, and then processed it with black physical vapor deposition. Jacob & Co. Speaking of the creative process behind the spider carried on the timepiece, he said: “Finally, the “coat” of the tarantula is made of duck feathers that are carefully embroidered with silk threads.
Indeed, you can hardly find any clues, even in high-resolution photos you cannot see that the spider is real-until you see its eyes. The construction of this tarantula and making it come to life has attracted enough attention, even if there is no start, there is no result.
In Haute Horlogerie, the giant spider inside the discounted cheap men watches looks like a useless or even stupid exercise, but it does not help. Every space inside the box has been used. The internal JCAM24 caliber is no less than 367 components, and putting the spider web inside is a challenge in itself. “There is no doubt that there is no other movement in the haute horology industry that can overcome challenges like the astronomical spider, that’s for sure!” said the watchmaker.
Like all other astronomical clocks, every element inside is in motion, performing a carefully choreographed and synchronized dance. There is a sphere that can reflect light in all directions. For this purpose, a Jacob-Cut with 288 faces is created; the sphere rotates around its axis for 30 seconds and rotates around the sapphire crystal back cover. There is also a blue magnesium globe, which rotates every 30 seconds, but does not leave the deadly arms of the spider. Then there is the four-arm platform, which rotates every 10 minutes.
The 18-carat white gold lugs are further inlaid with 80 baguette-cut diamonds, adding a sense of luxury to the original excellent work. The white gold buckle on the black aligator leather strap is also set with baguette-cut diamonds. The 50mm case is large, but the lugs allow it to sit comfortably even on a thinner wrist.
The case has no crown. However, there are two buttons on the back of the sale replica watch and a recessed hinged label, which allows the wearer to set the time and wind the watch separately.
The astronomical spider has a 60-hour power reserve and is waterproof up to 30 meters. Going deeper, the tarantula drowned.
Again, just like other astronomical works, the readability of the watch is sacrificed for storytelling. Jacobs & Co.’s purpose is to render the universe poetically through this series, and to add so many elements to each work, it voluntarily abandoned the idea of their clarity and legibility. The Clarity Spider is no exception: there are so many things happening inside the case that it almost makes people forget that this piece also means passing the time.
The Clarity Spider Tourbillon by Jacobs & Co. Astronomy is really worth seeing.
